Robben Island

Robben Island is located off the coast a short ways from Cape Town. It was home to a prison during the Apartheid era which housed many political prisoners, including Neslon Mandela. It is now a museum and World Heritage Site, to "reflect the triumph of freedom and human dignity over oppression and humiliation"
